Okay, let me start by saying that I am not a guy that doesn’t think about the long-term. When it comes to my home, I’m all about the renovations that will last. Come on – we all know it’s a lot easier and cheaper!
Still, that doesn’t mean that I’m not inclined to the odd short-term fix. After all, they are easy and simple to perform, so there’s no need to go through day after day. And, they can transform a house. Yep, the short, sweet and small often make the biggest difference.
With that in mind, here are my quick property fixes that can totally make over a house. Enjoy!
To my mind, there is nothing more annoying than paper that is coming loose from the walls. For one thing, it looks tatty and untidy. And, for another, it’s easy to fix. All I do is take the paper off and start again. Readers might think this is an extreme measure, but I like to do a job properly if I’m going to do it at all. Anyway, it’s less fiddly and complicated. Or, like I recommend losing the wallpaper and going for paint. Fresh paint always gives off a shine and a gleam that’s hard to replicate. The better news is that it only takes a few hours to complete.
Broken Light Bulb
How many homes have light bulbs that don’t work? I wouldn’t like to guess, but I would say almost every property on the planet. Okay, maybe not that much, but there are a lot. , and that’s a hazard of owning a house. So is replacing the bulb and not being a lazy so and so! I think people like to forget about them because they are high up and hard to spot. But, there’s a reason they’re hard to see: it’s dark. The right lighting goes a long way in creating the perfect atmosphere, so it’s a cardinal sin for a light feature not to work.
Bust Door Handle
Door handles are a little different to the other two in my mind. The reason is that I always think they are so easy to spot. After all, I literally use the handle on a daily basis. And, when it doesn’t work, it isn’t hard to notice. Practicality is just as important style, which is why people flock to . No house should only look pretty because a home needs substance. Otherwise, it isn’t a home at all.
For one thing, a leaky pipe can become a burst one pretty quickly. When that happens, the water will ruin the entire house. But, even a leaky pipe can cause damp patches to occur. I hate wet spots because they are so hard to cover. Even my doesn’t do the trick because it seeps back through again. My only advice is to fix the leak as soon as possible. After all, no one wants to come home to a flood after work.
I don’t know about you, but my days are hard enough at the best of times!
